Yes! Infants and toddlers are natural scientists. Just like scientists they use the same skills to understand the world around them. This workshop offers both knowledge and application about how infant and toddler teachers can help infants and toddlers develop these important higher-order cognitive skills to build a culture of learning like a scientist in the classroom.

Some of the learning objectives this training will cover:

  • Why do science with infants and toddlers?
  • How to teach inquiry skills to infants and toddlers.
  • What types of environments and materials support science with infants and toddlers?
  • Practice the skills of scaffolding, inquiry, science speak, and communication.
