STEAM with Infants and Toddlers: Focus on Supporting Engineering Learning

Learning Objectives:

  • What is engineering with infants and toddlers?
  • How to teach engineering concepts and language use.
  • What types of environment and materials support engineering with infants and toddlers?
  • Practice the concepts of engineering!

Yes! Infants and toddlers are natural scientists. Just like scientists they use the same skills to understand the world around them. This workshop offers both knowledge and application about how infant and toddler teachers can help infants and toddlers develop these important higher-order cognitive skills to build a culture of learning like an engineer in the classroom.
