Alaska Agriculture in the Classroom is a program designed to help Alaska's students understand that farms are the source of their food and flowers, as well as fabrics and fuels. With funding from DHSS, Alaska Agriculture in the Classroom has developed a set of Alaska themed agriculture lessons for early childhood educators. The lessons include agricultural-based content covering topics like pigs, cows, plants, birch syrup, berries and fruits, and grains. The lessons are structured with state early education guidelines and include unique ways to present agriculture concepts using science, social studies, language arts, movement and music, and nutrition. Lessons are available free of charge on the Alaska Agriculture in the Classroom website. This session will present these lessons with an opportunity for you to try some of the activities during the virtual presentation.
