Principles of Child Development and Learning

Early educators must have a good understanding of child development to plan learning environments, activities, and interactions with young children.  Children's learning is multi-dimensional in that young children grow physically, intellectually, socially, emotionally all at the same time and all areas are critical to healthy development. Individual uniqueness and children's cultural must also be considered when planning for quality learning.
