Keeping Children Safe - SIDS, SBS and Child Abuse

Childcare providers are mandated reporters of child abuse and neglect in the state of Alaska This training will help you to understand your responsibilities as a mandated reporter, the signs of abuse and neglect, and how to make a report. You will also learn how to work with families to prevent child abuse and neglect with the children in your care.

Furthermore, during this 3 hour course, participants will learn how to create a safe sleep environment to reduce the risk of sleep related deaths, as well as identify startling statistics on Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) and how to prevent and reduce the number of SBS victims.

Two, 1.5 hour sessions. Both sessions must be attended to reccive credt. No partical credit awarded.

Session 1: Monday, December 11, 2023, 6:30 - 8:00 PM

Session 2: Wednesday, December 13, 2023, 6:30 - 8:00 PM
