Communicating With Families When You Have Concerns

The purpose of this presentation is to provide information about children with disabilities or developmental delays, laws and procedures that guide their early education, and to support families and caregivers through this process. This training suite fits into the foundation of Early Achievers Framework-Family Engagement and Partnership and was developed by the University Of Washington. Effective April 1, 2021, educators must be present and visible on video camera for the entire class time.

There are Three Objectives For This Presentation:

  • Describe conditions that affect a child’s development and learning
  • Paraphrase the referral and eligibility process
  • Discuss strategies for successful and effective communication with families.
